The Role

Our client is seeking a Sponsorship Sales Executive to sell multi-tiered sponsorship packages for their events. You will be required to seek out appropriate partners, develop relationships with relevant decision makers and sell over-the-counter and bespoke packages to fit the objectives of clients. In addition, you will also be able to sell various delegate and attendee packages to our large, relevant and targeted audiences. Cross-selling with non-event activities is also possible. Clients will be a combination of existing long-standing relationships though also seeking new clients for existing and launch initiatives.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Selling over the counter and bespoke sponsorship packages to UK and international clients for established large scale and launch events

  • Regularly hitting and exceeding targets agreed

  • Grow revenue across a base of existing clients but also have the ability to source new business

  • Maintaining regular contact with clients and formulate innovative, creative and profitable solutions for their business

  • Maintaining close liaison with the marketing, production and operations teams in order to ensure the delivery of successful customer focused events and publishing

  • Ensuring your sales report and manage the sales pipeline

  • Identifying potential customers from media and events and other business sources.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A natural understanding of the commercial benefits of events to sponsors

  • A firm grasp of the principles of selling sponsorship

  • The ability to spot and respond to sponsorship opportunities

  • A hunger for winning new business

  • A consultation approach to selling

  • The intelligence to understand the business issues of your customers

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with very senior figures

  • Sales planning, organizational and accurate forecasting skills

  • A good healthy balance of personal drive and team outlook

Day-to-day responsibilities for this role include:

  • Working closely with the Commercial Director to develop an inspiring sponsorship inventory

  • Quickly and smartly researching and identifying likely prospects for targeting

  • Contacting, consulting and matching them to opportunities at the event (and closing!)

  • Developing and managing a substantial event pipeline throughout the year

  • Being on top of your forecasts, sales target and understanding the pathway to delivering it

  • Growing deep industry knowledge, you will be out in the market meeting key players

  • Being a key part of the team that creates and develops new events to expand the portfolio further

  • Playing your part at the event, managing sponsors and helping with other onsite team duties

The Person

The ideal Sponsorship Sales Executive would have worked within delegate and/or sponsorship sales previously and have a proven track record. You will have previously worked for a conference company or in publishing with a strong emphasis on event content, be passionate about the future of media and events, and be able to easily demonstrate this.

Candidates with strong sales experience, and a desire to learn and develop within the events industry, will also be considered.

You will be a highly ambitious individual who is looking for a career move with the ability to communicate with a wide range of clients at all levels. You will be financial motivated, proactive and have a desire to succeed.

Salary Range & Benefits:

Base salary: £30-40k per Annum (dependent on experience and knowledge)
